We need your help!
ARC is looking for volunteers to join our team of amazing people who are interested in helping us continue our mission of combating elder abuse & exploitation, preparing consumers to purchase a home, and save homes from foreclosure in Southern Arizona. Our volunteers will be trained in their area of interest and our greatest need. Bilingual is a plus!
Our areas of need include:
* Administrative Support
* Program Management Support
* Community Outreach/Engagement

Why volunteer for ARC?
Great question. Our current volunteers were asked why they chose ARC and this is what they said:
1. The staff. They're like family.
2. The working environment. I feel seen, heard and am appreciated.
3. The cause. I'm a part of helping people better themselves and their situation.
4. The "job". My skills are matched to the greatest area of need, and I'm trained.
5. The schedule. It's flexible!

What's In It For Me? (WIFFM)

Mission Statement

ARC strives to support housing stabilization through the provision of resources to create new homeowners, support distressed homeowners and renters, and serve the critical needs of safety, care and housing stability for the elderly.

Description

ARC has been providing home retention assistance and elder services to vulnerable exploited adults for over 30 years. Throughout the pandemic, ARC continued serving those facing financial hardship providing mortgage and rental payment assistance to keep people in their homes and protecting vulnerable adults from homelessness and exploitation due to physical, mental, and social challenges they face. Since its beginning in 1988, ARC has been committed to responding to elders in crisis suffering emotional, financial, or physical abuse, providing urgent care, housing, protection, and safety.
ARC played an important and critical role keeping people in their homes and avoiding foreclosure statewide as a HUD Housing Counseling Agency after the real estate and stock market crash in 2008, and during the COVID Pandemic. ARC helped thousands of families in Arizona stay in their homes and overcome foreclosure due to financial hardship. ARC's counseling and mortgage payment assistance, coupled with lender advocacy helped many Arizona families avoid a housing crisis. Without housing stability, all other social and financial, and heath functions breakdown leading to a family in crisis with dependency on public assistance.
Now, a nationally recognized HUD Housing Counseling Agency and an affiliate with UnidosUS, we continue providing housing assistance with a focus on low income and Latino populations.
