About

This position is critical for the success of the CAN mission! Interested volunteers would deliver food from one of three local food shelves (your choice) and to meet with a homebound adult once a month. This individual must be able to listen to the adult assigned to him/her in order to communicate concerns, successes, or other information to the CAN Lead after each visit. This position will require approximately 2-3 hours per month.

Volunteers can work individually, or with their small group, friends, or family in order to develop a relationship with a homebound adult.

Required:

  • Must pass background check

  • Attend training/orientation

  • Be willing to commit to meeting with a homebound adult once a month

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance

  • Reports to CAN Lead

Must have:

  • An understanding of CAN’s mission

  • Ability to communicate via computer and/or smartphone

  • Ability to develop a connection with a homebound adult

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to Listen and encourage
