Volunteer Driver Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Backyard Harvest Program Volunteer Driver is responsible for transporting equipment to and from events in Ventura County. Driver is required to have a clean driving record and be able to lift the necessary equipment including but not limited to ladders, picker poles, and boxes. Driver with her/his own large vehicle is preferred, but option to use equipment van which is stored in downtown Ventura is available. Driver will pick up equipment from nearby storage hubs and deliver it to backyard or farm harvest location. After the two-hour harvest, Driver will pick up equipment and return it to storage hub. By fulfilling this position, Driver will have the opportunity to connect with volunteers, fruit donors, receiving agencies, and other community partners. This position will support the Ventura County Backyard Harvest program in creating an opportunity for program growth and providing the necessary equipment to events in the community of the Driver.

Drivers are needed in the following communities: Ojai Valley, Ventura/Oxnard, Thousand Oaks/Conejo Valley, and Simi Valley.
