Description
The Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA) is a powerful force for leaders of volunteers across the state of Minnesota. Our vision is to be the premier statewide organization uniting, educating and advancing Minnesota communities through excellence in leadership of volunteers and best practices in organizational volunteerism.
MAVA's programs include comprehensive best practice training that has reached thousands of leaders, a VISTA AmeriCorps program supporting organizations as they expand their volunteer engagement, the Service Enterprise certification initiative, a rigorous 18-month change management program focused on effective leveraging of volunteer resources to meet mission and research resulting in cutting edge tools and curriculum. MAVA also hosts 2 annual conferences to support professional development for leaders of volunteers, and provide information on new trends and critical issues in the field.
MAVA's community exists in layers, with over 650 members, reflecting human service, education, housing, environment, culturally specific, arts, health care, youth, and elder organizations from every corner of Minnesota. MAVA facilitates the exchange of innovative information and ideas and fosters effective professional development for leaders who engage volunteers. We constantly shape the future of volunteerism through extensive field-based research and training which organizational leaders rely upon to do their work.
