The most important assets of Priority are strong volunteer board members and grant writers with entrepreneurial experience, enthusiasm, and leadership skills. We are pushing ahead the Los Angeles and Orange County areas in community development, education and housing.
Grant writers will research and work alongside the Founder to apply for grants that align with Priority's mission. Our current iniatives have received support and partnerships of city organizations, the Dell Foundation, SHIELDS, as well as many private individuals and companies such as Dhat Stone Academy.
Board members will work alongside the Secretary to further the development of our community, education, and real estate initiatives as an organization providing wrap-around services to build the resilience of individuals and families.

Description
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & HOUSING
Priorities was initially founded in 2013 Christina Vescovo to provide personal support and housing to individuals graduating from treatment centers. In 2014, they began operating in Los Angeles under a similar model and organized a series of hikes called Climb! in memory of Josh Finley who died climbing in Malibu following his success overcoming addiction at SHIELDS.
In 2015, Priority partnered with Steve Heflin who re-purposed the Hub Motel in Compton, a property shut down and abandoned due to criminal activity. Steve took on the task of making the Hub Motel a residential and community development haven.
EDUCATION
In 2016, Priority joined with Dhat Stone Academy, the City of Compton, and the Silicon Valley Black Chamber of Commerce to offer We Are Code, a program with a mission to create educational competitions for at-risk youth so they may someday join and compete with top ranking tech leaders to become industry experts and successful entrepreneurs. The mission is the first of its kind to feature Hackathons and a TechLab serving Compton.
