The Food Pantry Office Receptionist (volunteer assignment) represents the organization to volunteers and the public who visit or contact the organization’s main offices during the operational days/hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Choose days/hours you are available).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answers the main phone line and direct calls appropriately for services and support
    • Greet and sign in volunteers and visitors
    • Direct guests to offices or volunteer assignments within facility
    • Answer questions about the food bank and provides forms and makes referrals for services as appropriate
    • Make reminder phone calls to other volunteers who are assigned to projects for the following day
    • Open and distribute the mail
    • Enter volunteer hours in computer database
    • Assist bookkeeper with non-confidential filing, data collection and input
    • Help prepare bulk mailings
    • Prepare correspondence as needed
    • Other duties as assigned

Responsible to: Senior Operations Manager

Time Commitment: Choose any day(s)/shifts - Monday through Friday. 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. 2 positions needed daily. 3 hour minimum shift requirement.

Qualifications: Basic knowledge of computer and data entry. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability.

Support: Training for this position will be provided. In addition, the Bookkeeper will be available for questions and assistance.

Dress Code: Business Casual. Closed toe, flat soled shoe required due to occasional access to warehouse.
