Attorney training

Esperanza is a public interest legal organization serving the vulnerable immigrants of Los Angeles. Our organization provides pro-bono direct representation and community education to unaccompanied children in immigration removal proceedings, and also matches children with pro bono attorneys.

We believe it is absolutely critical that children in deportation proceedings have legal representation. Unrepresented children are significantly more likely to be ordered removed from the United States than children represented by counsel - they struggle to comprehend their legal proceedings - and they are at risk of notario fraud.

There are simply not enough attorneys in public interest organizations to take on these cases.

You can help! Be a pro bono attorney!

Esperanza identifies the most vulnerable youth and the strongest legal claims, and matches these cases with pro bono attorneys. As a pro bono attorney for Esperanza you will be provided with resources, mentorship and templates to help you. You may make use of our office and conference space if needed.

It is time to get involved! Isn’t this why you went to law school?

To apply, email you resume and a cover letter to Carlos Valdes, Pro Bono Coordinator at CValdes@ccharities.org
