Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. Too many spend years moving from one temporary home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, even prison as adults. That's why CASA is important. CASA was created to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive.
Our mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for abused and neglected children in Medina, Real, and Uvalde Counties.
The Bluebonnet Children's Advocacy Center is a non-profit 501(C) (3) organization that is the only advocacy center serving Medina, Real, and Uvalde Counties as well as courtesy services to surrounding counties. Established in 2001, Bluebonnet provides forensic interviews, therapy, child advocacy for children in foster care, victims advocacy, crime victims compensation assistance, community education classes, awareness programs, and basic needs to victims. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
