Welcome to the Environmental Learning Center of Connecticut! - "Inspiring an appreciation for, and enjoyment of nature, through education and conservation, fostering a healthy environment and an improved quality of life".
We are looking for knowledgeable, charismatic, educators interested in sharing their expertise by leading family and adult educational activities like: Birding and Birding by Ear, Mushroom ID walks, Tree ID and all that is the flora and fauna native to our area.
Indian Rock Nature Preserve and the Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center hosts a variety of special events, adult and school age educational programs throughout the year. If you have a love of the outdoors and an excitement about sharing all of your knowledge we could use your help! We deliver some great programs for school children including First American, Pond Study, Farm Tour and Apples and Cider, just to name a few.
This is a great position for recent college grads and retirees!
ELCCT offers a diversity of hands-on experiential programs using a variety of resources and facilities. Our programs are offered at the Barnes Nature Center, Indian Rock Nature Preserve and in the schools of Connecticut. In 2017, we provided our environmental educational programs to over 25,000 children and families from over 70 Connecticut communities!
In addition to our education programs, ELCCT also serves as a land trust and has protected over 735 acres of land in Bristol, Burlington, and Southington Connecticut.
