The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is seeking volunteers to provide efficient and courteous service to patients and family members waiting to be seen in the General Oncology/Hematology clinic lobby or the Women’s Center lobby.


  1. Offer water, juice and crackers to patients waiting for appointments in the waiting area.
  2. Offer to check on status of appointment if notes patient waiting in the waiting area for more than 20 minutes. Staff will assist in identifying patients needing assistance.
  3. Offer magazines, books, crayons etc to patients and family members waiting in the waiting area for appointments.

New volunteers must be able to commit a minimum of 3 months to the Volunteer Services program. Volunteers assist an average of one 2-4 hour shift per week.

For current patients the superior care you have come to expect from us will continue uninterrupted. For example, as part of the transition to Fred Hutch there will be no changes to your doctor or care team. Over the longer term, this update to our structure will enable us to improve patients’ care experiences and increase integration across your care team.
