Available Volunteer Opportunity: Playground Associate
Locations: Manchester, CT
Hours: Friday evenings, volunteers are needed for 1 "shift" per season (quarterly) throughout the year.
Depending on your role, your tasks may include:
* Supervise, observe children as they play and engage in Mobile Imagination Playground
* Gently intervene when needed
Impact: By serving with this volunteer opportunity, you will be helping young children become socially, emotionally and academically prepared for kindergarten by collaboratively increasing the scope, quality and impact of local family-based programs and services.
In order to volunteer you should be:
* A registered Urban Alliance volunteer (you will have the chance to if you haven't already)
* 18 years or older
* Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
* Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
* Able to provide a reference for working with children
* Experienced with and interested in working with children
* Patient, reliable and honest
* Able to work well with a team of teachers/childcare workers
A background check will be required to be placed with this volunteer opportunity.
