Who are we?

One Community is a 501c3 non-profit sustainability think-tank and implementation organization.

What is the project?

We are in the design phase for a sustainable eco-community, focusing first on our City Center. Our open source and free-shared Duplicable City Center will save resources and help model a redefinition of how people choose to live. This structure will function as a recreation center, large-scale dining hall, large-scale laundry facility, and eco-tourism accommodations.

Who are you?

You are passionate about sustainability and have a desire to share your gift; co-creating positive change with like-minded people. Our project is not about doing what has already out there, it’s about creating something better, more sustainable, and inspirational to those interested in creating a better world for all. To help with this, we're seeking a leader, a visionary, and someone with 4+ years electrical expertise capable of helping with specifications for loads, wire sizes, conduit runs, schematics, panel placements, etc. Maybe you're retired, or working on an advanced degree. Maybe you're a go-getter who likes to have his/her hands in various outside projects or spend your weekends giving in a meaningful way.

What are the Electrical Engineer details?

We have two years of design work and research already invested in our control and automation systems for this structure. We want to put in a core electrical infrastructure that has the ability to be cut over to different sources, be monitored at a detailed level, and integrate into automation. We hold a weekly team call focused on continued development and we are ready for your help for about 5-10 hours a week for approximately 60-90 days focused on review and insight into the designs of our team.

You will work closely with our Project Manager and control systems expert using standard electrical code and help with specifications for loads, wire sizes, schematics, the most affordable and intelligent way for conduit runs, panel placements, etc. for what we've designed.

Mission Statement

Our mission at One Community is to help people create a better world by demonstrating a more sustainable and enriching way of living and open source everything required for replication. We are a 100% volunteer non-profit and non-governmental organization. We are creating open source resources and solutions for food, energy, housing, social architecture, education, economics, stewardship, and more.

Description

Our vision is to usher in a new age of cooperation, collaboration, and sustainability. We do this by demonstrating what’s possible, open sourcing and free-sharing the blueprints, and making modular or total duplication easy enough, affordable enough, and attractive enough so that positive and sustainable world-change will spread on its own.
