ORGANIZATION: Hospice of Michigan

If you love music, love researching to make the perfect playlist for someone, then we are looking for you! Hospice of Michigan has launched a volunteer based program called, "My Music" which aims to reduce anxiety and create peace for dementia patients. Listening to music can transform a mood and can bring back joyful memories.

How you can help

We are looking for organized, creative volunteers who would work with us during office hours (anytime between 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday) to build our music library and to create playlists for specific patients based on their case histories. We need help to with our musical inventory system and the check-out process. This is a statewide program and you would be collaborating with other volunteer My Music Librarians all over the state.

Volunteer training is required as is a standard background check and reference check.

Our locations - We have offices and worksites throughout the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Wherever you are, we have a team of hospice specialists who can help you.

Our commitment - We care for all who need and seek our care, regardless of their age, diagnosis or ability to pay. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for our patients and families and for admissions.

Our size - We serve nearly 800 patients and their families every day; nearly one in four hospice patients in Michigan.
