About

The Mercer Island Thrift Shop is looking for volunteers who can regularly dedicate one or more three-hour shifts per week to sort, value, shelve and list books. Shifts are very flexible as to day and time based on your busy schedule. All Proceeds support Mercer Island Youth and Family Services. Email us to set up a volunteer tour and interview to check it out.

We operate from:

7:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday

9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturdays

11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sundays

When you become a sorter of the plethora of publications at MITS, you'll find a book you've always wanted to read and three more that you didn't know you wanted to read. Did we mention volunteers read for free?

"His hands were weak and shaking from carrying far too many books from the bookshop. It was the best feeling." Joseph Gordon-Levitt The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories.
