The Friends of the Multnomah County Library (FOL) is currently seeking applications from committed and experienced individuals to serve a three-year term on its Board of Directors. initiatives that would not be possible without our support.
We advocate for library resources at the local and state levels, fostering its success in

We currently operate two used book stores: Rose City Reads (221 NE 122nd) and the
Friends Library Store (MCL Central Library).
FOL Board Members:
Lead and manage the overall operations of the FOL organization;
Assume an active and vital role in essential leadership functions: strategic planning,
finance & budgeting, marketing/community outreach, and membership
management;
Attend quarterly evening meetings (currently online) and participate in one or more standing committees;
Actively contribute their skills and expertise to our committees and leadership functions, with an interest in serving in an Executive Committee office: president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer;
Maintain an active FOL membership ($25/yr).
Ideal Candidates:
Possess proven and demonstrated leadership qualities, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team;
Demonstrate a solid understanding of financial management and accounting principles;
Have experience in marketing, social media, and communication/outreach strategies;
Are deeply committed to the transformative power of libraries.
