ORGANIZATION: Sound Generations

Help keep the meals rolling at the Shoreline Senior Center. A volunteer is needed to deliver meals Thursday mornings, when one of the regular drivers will be away. Drivers typically arrive at the Center between 9:15am and 10am, load up the meals, and are done with their route in 1.5 to 2 hours. Training is provided, and mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries.

As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.

Qualities sought in Meals on Wheels volunteers: Commitment to the well being of elders, reliability, flexibility, accuracy, resourcefulness, good cheer, and a sense of humor.

Requirements: A Washington State driver's license, auto insurance, Washington State Patrol clearance, and the ability to lift 15 lbs. Minimum age, 18.

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
