Community Emergency Service

  • 24 people are interested

We are looking for volunteers to deliver meals to our Seniors.

Deliveries currently occur every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Meals can be picked up between 10:45-11am and meal delivery normally takes about an hour. Meals can be picked up at CES, 1900 11th Ave S, which is six blocks south of the USBank Stadium. It's fun to take a route with a friend or coworker--one to drive and one to navigate!

You can help out as little as once a month or as much as 3x a week.

Mission Statement

Community Emergency Service transforms lives by serving neighbors, sharing resources and becoming community - a place where people come hungry and leave hopeful.

Description

Community Emergency Service is a multi-service non-profit organization that runs a number of food based assistance programs for Minneapolis residents. Our main programs include: Food Shelf, Meals on Wheels, Home Delivery, Bonus Friday Distribution, and East African Food Distribution.

CES is located within one of the most diverse, densely populated neighborhoods in Minneapolis; over 20,000 people live within its boundaries. 46% of families living in the Phillips neighborhood are below the federal poverty level.

At CES, we strive to serve all our neighbors in need without distinction or test. We invite support from volunteers and donors and are open to collaboration with other agencies, regardless of religious affiliation.

Will you help us move people from hunger to hope?
