Indy Safety Car Team presenting Quick Tips on Winning in Life.

Racers Who Care needs about 10 dedicated volunteers to assist with RWC's field trip program for kids at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. You would be asked at the time of the event to take care of various specific tasks like: adding lnames to the letter board, meeting participants at the ticket gate and giving them their tickets so they can get into the area, meeting children as they arrive in the Conference Room and thanking them for coming, as well as assisting them to be seated, and more. It consists of a lot of standing and walking but is so much fun! E-mail me if you are interested and would like further information at: racerswhocare@gmail.com.

You will need to have an email account so that you and RWC may be in touch with each other often. We will be sending you further event information and descriptions of the work you may be asked to do.

The dates are:

4/07/2022 from 2 - 5:30 p.m. for Conference Room Set Up.

4/08 & 4/09/2022 from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. each day


You don't have to work with us the entire weekend unless you would like to, We require that you plan to work entire days and not partial days.

If the Grand Prix Association requires it, you may need to wear masks at the event, and provide proof of full CoVid vaccinations or of a negative CoVid test result within the immediate prior 72 hours.

RWC's racing professionals are dedicated to making a difference for our next generation by meeting with as many children and teens as possible, using racers' own insights drawn from their experiences in the School of Hard Knocks on the Road to Winners' Circle to encourage them to explore their own possibilities and to instruct them in the practicalities of how to actually achieve personal dreams and goals, as well as advising them to avoid life's "potholes" in the form of drug and alcohol abuse and other self-destructive behaviors.

RWC HAS TWO MAIN ACTIVITIES:

1. WE ARRANGE FOR PRO RACERS TO MEET WITH CHILDREN AND TEENS, NEAR WHERE THEY LIVE OR ARE BASED, THROUGHOUT THE U.S. TO SHARE "QUICK TIPS ON WINNING IN LIFE."

DRAWN FROM THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES LEARNED WHILE NEGOTIATING CAREER POTHOLES, ROADBLOCKS AND TRAFFIC JAMS, RACERS SHARE PERSONALIZED GUIDELINES ON HOW IMPORTANT KNOWLEDGE IS, HOW TO WORK WITH OTHER PEOPLE, HOW TO LEARN COPING SKILLS, THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING THE LONG VIEW, AND OTHER IMPORTANT PRACTICALITIES AND LIFE SKILLS.

2. ADDITIONALLY, RWC IS ORGANIZER OF THE ANNUAL FIELD TRIP PROGRAMS FOR KIDS AND TEENS HELD AT THE ACURA GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH AND AT THE NATIONAL HOT ROD ASSOCIATION'S SEASON ENDING EVENT IN POMONA, CALIFORNIA.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • Require an approximate 4 hour commitment on day of race. 3 hour commitment on Thursday for Conference Room set up, and 8.5 hour commitment on Friday and Saturday.
  • This opportunity calls for a lot of walking and standing. Depending on the requirements of the Grand Prix Association, you may need to wear a mask and you may be required to be fully CoVid vaccinated or have proof of negative test within 72 hours.
