Do you want to make a difference in the lives of girls in your community? Volunteer with Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia this Spring!
Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade. The 10 week curriculum-based program helps girls build skills to be strong, confident, and healthy. As a coach, you'll be trained to guide small teams in practice twice a week. You'll lead your team of girls in valuable lessons and teamwork building each week, while working up to running a 5K at the end of the season.
Coaching a Girls on the Run team is one of the most rewarding ways to get involved with GOTR NOVA. Coaching provides a first-hand experience of the program and a sense of accomplishment, knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of the girls on your team.
Here is a list of schools with openings for head and assistant coaches for our Spring 2017 season:
- Farmwell Station Middle, Ashburn, VA
- Loudoun Country Day School, Leesburg, VA
If these locations are not convenient to you, please know that we have program sites at over 100 schools in Northern Virginia - so we can certainly find a location that works for you to volunteer!
If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please contact Nicole Harrison at nharrison@gotrnova.org. You can also sign up to receive more information on our website: http://gotrnova.org/volunteers#volunteer-opportunities .
