We are Cornerstone Montgomery. We believe that every person has the full potential to live a meaningful life of their choosing. Our mission is to empower those living with mental health and substance use disorders to live, work, and integrate successfully within the community.

Our History

Born from the 2012 merger of two prominent providers of mental health services and support--St. Luke’s House, founded in 1971, and Threshold Services, founded in 1981, Cornerstone Montgomery is now the largest and most comprehensive mental health service providing organization in Montgomery County. Cornerstone Montgomery is an independent, nonsectarian, nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that has a capacity to serve over 2,000 unduplicated adults and transition age youth who are living with severe mental health disorders and co-occurring substance use issues.
