Help a local non-profit for one day with our fundraising event in Dearborn on Thursday, May 10th. Support team with event set up for reception and raffle items. Unload supplies, decorate tables and organize materials for registration. Shifts available for early, middle and late times. Volunteers must be able to attend event orientation on Monday, April 30th at 5:30 pm at Mercy Education Project, 1450 Howard Street, Detroit, MI 48216. Mercy Education Project (MEP) is a nonprofit educational center for women and girls dedicated to personal growth and stability, where quality education, access to resources, encouragement, and empowerment are the vehicles for their future success. MEP believes every woman and girl has the right to boundless opportunities and resources necessary to be educated no matter their backgrounds, beliefs, or socio-economic situation.

Description

Mercy Education Project provides on-one remedial tutoring to at-risk girls in 2nd through 12th grades from southwest Detroit. We also offer College and Career Readiness (CCR) Program for 11th and 12th grade girls to explore, prepare, and apply to colleges. Our Emerging Leaders Camp in the summer offers middle school girls college and career exploration and confidence building. More summer camp opportunities coming in 2024!

MEP provides adult basic education, individualized GED preparation, and job skills training to women from low-income households in Detroit and nearby communities.

All programs are designed to help our students overcome the challenges and barriers they face as a females in Detroit and work toward short and long-term goals.
