CAAWS is run solely by unpaid volunteers and is governed by a Board of Directors. Please o pen your homes and hearts to homeless dogs or puppies. CAAWS will provide a healthy, spayed/neutered animal and will pay all medical and food expenses as long as you will provide a loving and safe home. We need foster homes for both small and large breed dogs. (Application Required)

Mission Statement
The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) is a non-profit organization committed to the well-being of animals in the Baton Rouge community by providing, facilitating, and promoting spay/neuter, adopting or facilitating the adoption of homeless animals, teaching the community responsible companion animal ownership and the humane treatment of animals, and at all times promoting the practice of spay/neuter.
Description
With the help of volunteers, CAAWS offers a number of services and programs that strive to promote animal welfare within the Baton Rouge community. Humane Education and companion ownership, Pet Touch Therapy, Feral Cat Program, Community Assistance Spay and Neuter Program, and Adoptions are all outstanding programs and services provided by the organization.
