PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To coordinate and pick up donations from third parties to DPA, organize and inventory donations in our care and distribute donations to DPA fosters and volunteers or distribute to shelter or other groups on an as needed basis.
Salary / Pay Rate: Volunteer, up to 5 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate donations from third parties with donor. Arrange for pick up or drop off.
Provide receipts for goods as requested.
Inventory and organize items donated in storage.
Maintain log of large equipment on loan to foster families and other volunteers.
Make distributions to fosters, volunteers, or other groups on an as needed basis.
Dispose of items donated in poor or unfit for use condition.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: Will have regular contact with volunteers operating main info@dallaspetsalive.org email and main phone line. Have regular contact with foster, adoption, and volunteer teams, and as needed contact with foster parents and other volunteers. Maintain open communication with Vice President in charge of storage facility quality control.
CONTROLS OVER WORK : This position reports to Vice President of Dallas Pets Alive.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: High school graduate preferred.
Must have no previous convictions of Class C Misdemeanor or higher related to theft or similar offense.
Must have regular access to phone and email.
Must be local to Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex, and be able to meet at storage facility as needed.
Available transportation and ability to meet and pick up or distribute donations is preferred.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be organized and skilled at record-keeping.

OUR APPROACH
Our organization is run mostly by volunteers, and all of our pets are housed by dedicated foster families throughout North Texas.
We rescue and help the healthy and treatable pets at greatest risk for euthanasia at our partner shelters. We also provide assistance and resources to pet owners having problems so significant that they need to surrender their pets to a shelter.
In our rescue program, we focus on:
- Rescuing healthy and treatable pets at North Texas shelters at the greatest risk of being euthanized
- Reducing owner surrender through our Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program
- Opening kennel space by transporting pets to partners in the U.S. and Canada in need of adoptable animals
- Challenging the way our community views rescue animals. We believe that adoption is not only right thing to do but THE thing to do!

*At this time, we do not accept court-ordered service hours nor track community service hours.
*Our organization does not currently have an established office location, however in March 2023 DPA opened up an Adoption Container.
