About

Dear Community Volunteer,

Planning has started for our 26th Annual Information Fair & Festival. The event will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018,7 am to 7 p.m., at Cortez Park in West Covina.

Our Info Fair is dedicated to children with special needs, their families, and the professionals who work with them. This special occasion allows families that have children with special needs to come together, in an open and friendly environment, to enjoy a lively festival and to find out about the many community resources available to them.

Last year, over 3,000 people attended the Fair. The Fair would not have been such a tremendous success without the generous financial support from the community as well as the many volunteers who donated their time and energy. If you can volunteer for one or more projects, this will greatly help to keep the Fair running smoothly.

All volunteers need to fill out an application for us and you may contact Carina Lopez in order to obtain one through email. We ask that the volunteers wear comfortable clothing and shoes because you will be in constant movement. Volunteers will receive a free Parents' Place Volunteer T-Shirt, a free lunch, and a certificate for participation at the end of the volunteer shift.

The following are Tasks that the volunteers will be performing:

  • Unload Truck
  • Place Thank You signs around the Park
  • Table/Canopy set-up
  • Distribute items to designated areas
  • Set-up Games/Prize Area/Game Booths
  • Assist information tables
  • Clean Restrooms
  • Pick up trash around the park
  • Empty Trash Cans
  • Monitor Parking lots
  • Breakdown- Tables/canopies & Entertainment areas or General Clean-up
  • Load Truck
  • Help Unload Truck @ Parents' Place.

Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated by Parents' Place and the families we serve. If you have any questions or if you would like to request a copy of the application please call, Tavia Lawson at (626) 919-1091. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Tavia Lawson
