ORGANIZATION: HarmonyCares Hospice- Cincinnati

Grace Hospice serves patients in their homes in the Adams, Brown, Clinton & Clermont County areas. We are in need of a person to give companionship to one of our patients in the Fayetteville area. Volunteers typically visit their patient once a week and can do anything with them from reading the scripture, talking, watching TV, helping them cook to helping them cut their grass in the Summer. If you have free time and would enjoy spending time with someone then this is a great volunteer opportunity! Training and on-going support is provided. Fingerprinting and TB/UA are paid for by Grace Hospice as well.

Mission Statement

For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.

Description

Hospice is the only health care system that mandates the involvement of volunteers. This reflects the history of the hospice movement in the United States, which started as an all-volunteer system.

Hospice is designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support in the final phase of a terminal illness. At HarmonyCares, we focus on enhancing the quality of life and our volunteers play a key role in our mission. The hospice philosophy reaches beyond the physical needs of a patient and ensures that a patient spend their final days in comfort and with dignity.

HarmonyCares Hospice volunteers are as diverse as our professional staff. Compassion and caring are the hallmarks of any great hospice volunteer, and their involvement are a vital part of our team.
