Who: You are positive force and have an energetic attitude to assist our youth with their regular healthy living cleaning duties, service learning opportunities, and recreation activities.

What: Youth Specialist Aide - Weekend will:

  • Provide supervision and guidance for youth in a 24 hour structured group home setting.

  • This may include recreating, talking, having meals with, and interacting with the kids within the established structure and schedule.

  • Assisting with deep cleaning duties, offering education and help if additional work needs to be done.

  • Assist staff in monitoring residents using chemicals and making sure everyone is accounted for.

  • Participating in service learning opportunities- volunteering with the residents during the regular scheduled service learning, helping assist staff in monitoring the residents, and working side by side with the residents

  • Participating in their regular recreation time, which may include running, walking, hiking, playing sports or other activities.

Why: Committed,reliable adults are needed to make a positive impact on the lives of the children that are residents of our home.

When: This opportunity would be most beneficial 1-2x a week on Saturdays between 9am - 1pm or Sundays between 9am and 2:15pm. We ask that you are able to commit for a year to this role as consistency is an important part of the resident’s programming.

How: In order to volunteer for this opportunity, you will need to:

  • Be at least 21 years old.

  • Submit application and resume.

  • Submit to a criminal background check.

  • Complete interview.

  • Attend orientation.

  • Complete service shadowing.

  • Submit to and pass a drug screening and TB test.

  • Comply with all Idaho Youth Ranch Volunteer Policies and Procedures.
