Financial AnalystTo apply, please follow this link: https://educationfirst.ninjagig.com/jobs/volunteer-financial-analyst/ Assist the Treasurer and support the Board in the capacity of finance and accounting to ensure the organization is aligned with its financial commitments and targets. Tasks include:
  • Send "Thank You’s" to paper check, in-kind, event, and major donors
  • Import donations into backend system

  • Analyze running balances and perform reconciliations

  • Assist in federal tax filings

  • Issue reimbursements and follow up on pending donations

  • Analyze donations, performance of events and regions, and other fundraising metrics for trends, forecasting, KPI adherence, and other reporting needs

  • Analyze financial statements and budget to ensure organization is on track with goals and constraints

  • Assist Treasurer and Operations Officer with other tasks as needed

The following qualifications and experience are preferred:

  • Microsoft Office (mail merge)
  • Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas)

  • Industry-standard accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) and practices (e.g., GAAP)

  • Non-profit accounting

  • IRS form 990

  • PayPal, Network for Good, Cause4Action

  • Background or degree in finance and/or accounting

This position has a time commitment averaging between 1-2 hours per week. This position is designed so it can be held by individuals with other commitments.

Founded in 1995 by a group of recent college graduates, Education First is a nonprofit organization providing college scholarships to lo income youth. The founders of Education First believe that higher education can assist in breaking generational poverty. To promote our mission, we provide both financial and mentoring support to students. Education First targets students who have overcome significant life challenges and are seldom recognized for their achievements.
