Gathering

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of people with memory loss and their caregivers? The Gathering, a Lyngblomsten group respite program, is looking for volunteers.

The Gathering provides caregivers a few hours' break while volunteers like you enjoy time with participants who have early memory loss. Caregivers bring their loved one (participant) to one of two locations, St. Paul (Como Neighborhood) or White Bear Lake. Volunteers help participants take part in staff-led, brain-stimulating activities that are fun for everyone. You might work on word puzzles, participate in gentle movement, enjoy some music, complete a craft project, and finish up the day with a story. Training is provided. This is an incredibly rewarding volunteer role that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of the participants and their caregivers.

Join us as a Respite Assistant (ratio 2 participants to 1 volunteer). The Gathering is a four-hour program held twice a week (Mondays and Tuesdays) at our Como Park location and once a week (Thursdays) at our White Bear Lake location. As a volunteer, you'll be part of a caring community of support and friendship.

Please contact Melanie at mjagolino@lyngblomsten.org or 651-632-5499 to learn more. For more information on The Gathering program, visit our website: https://www.lyngblomsten.org/community-services/caregiver-resources1/gathering/.
