The Gathering

The Gathering, a Lyngblomsten program, is adding to the volunteer pool, can you help?

The Gathering provides a loved one caring for someone with memory loss a few hours break while volunteers like you have a great day with the person with memory loss! Caregivers bring their loved one (participant) to one of two locations, St. Paul (Como Neighborhood) or White Bear Lake. Volunteers help the participant with activities that are fun for everyone. You might do an art activity, then do some movement through dance or exercise, then take a virtual tour of a garden or museum, have a snack, do some singing, and then wrap up for the day with a story. Volunteers help with every aspect of the day.

You could be an Assistant Leader, a participant assistant (ratio 2 participants to 1 volunteer) or just come for a short time and lead one of the activities. The Gathering is a four-hour program held once a week. Please fill out an application at or call Shelli Beck at 651-414-5297 or e-mail if you have questions.
