Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach

We need volunteers to assist in our weekly lessons. We are looking for people to assist with helping disabled students riding horses as part of therapeutic learning.

  • Lead a horse
  • Walk along side horse, ensuring student's safety on the horse
  • Directly assist students in their lesson
  • Arena maintenance
  • Clean and maintain tack

We also have various special events and fundraisers throughout the year and are looking for volunteers with great fundraising, organizational, social media, and marketing skills/experience.

We also offer Advanced Level horsemanship training for Volunteers who put in a certain amount of hours and show dedication to learning about horses and theiir upkeep.

We strive to empower people with physical and developmental challenges to discover their greatest strengths and gain a sense of self-confidence and self-reliance through the special relationship with a horse.

Description

We are a 100% volunteer organization that provides Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to individuals of all ages who have disabilites.

We serve children and adults of all ages who have a variety of disabilites, including autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, spinal meningitis, Down syndrome, vision impairment, deaf/hard of hearing, learning disabilites, and developmental delay of all levels.

Simply put, therapeutic riding is horseback riding combined with physical, social, and emotional therapy.
