ORGANIZATION: Grand Rapids Public Museum

For those of you who have never experienced this event, it is an event that helps enhance the guest experience during the schools winter break. Snowflake Break is from December 19 through January 3 and runs from11am to 3pm . During this time, we are looking for 3 volunteers a day from 11am to 3pm . There will be chairs for volunteers who cannot stand for long periods of time, and volunteers will be assisting with the following events which are described below. If anyone is interested in helping, or you have friends, children or grand kids (12yrs or older) that would like to help, please have them call Joe Landmichl - Volunteer Manager, to sign up at 616.929.1717 .

Snowflake Break Events:

Punch Tin - This is a timeless craft, that has historical significance like lamps but this is a way for kids to be creative and experience history. Kids will be using hammers and nails to make their designs, and we are looking for 1 volunteer to replenish the tin, and talk about the significance and safety, before they start their designs.

Egyptian Snowflakes - Volunteers will be assisting kids and adults as they prepare Egyptian themed snowflakes and giraffe themed snowflakes since we have our new exhibit Robot Zoo opening in March. We are looking for 1 volunteer for this section
