Community Thread is seeking a Graphic Designer to complete a variety of design work, including infographics for web and print, which have a high visual impact. The Graphic Designer will be able to utilize his/her design skills to support local seniors and volunteers! Community Thread values the insight and creativity of volunteers and will work with you to adjust the position to fit your interests and our goals. Designs are needed for a variety of products, including event materials and graphics for web, social media, and newsletter use that produce a consistent visual brand for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Listen to staff to determine their needs and make design decisions
  • Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts for in-house web and print design
  • Design innovative graphic displays and layouts based on statistics tailored for our website, social media, or print
  • Use own computer and programs for design, such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Work on projects from original conception to completion, including logo creation, event reports, and event promotions materials
  • Other design responsibilities as time allows

Qualifications:

  • Creative flair and up-to-date knowledge of industry software
  • A professional approach to managing time and deadlines
  • Strong writing skills
  • Previous experience (paid or unpaid) or knowledge in graphic or digital design
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with good judgment
  • Team-oriented work style and effective interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to ask questions and receive feedback

Time Commitment:

  • 2-5 hours/week; 12 week minimum commitment
  • Flexible hours Monday-Friday for meetings
  • Option to work virtually after initial meetings and direction from staff

Community Thread weaves through the community in a variety of ways.

Our programs/services include:

  • Connecting community members through service and providing resources in the field of volunteer management through our regional Volunteer Center
  • Engaging seniors through our Stillwater and Bayport Senior Centers
  • Providing rides to medical appointments through our Transportation Program
  • Assisting seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes through our Chore Services Program
  • Providing support during the holidays for families, individuals with disabilities and seniors in our community through our Holiday Hope Program
  • We also host a number of community-wide volunteer initiatives including Rake-A-Difference Day and Spring Into Service.
