Description of Role:

  • Passionate about genealogical research.
  • Be willing to provide reference services with assistance.
  • Effectively utilize the library’s local records for record retrieval as well as genealogy databases. Have a sound knowledge of basic U.S. genealogical record sources (e.g. census, vital records, immigration, etc.)
  • Work closely with librarians on assigned research tasks and or genealogy collections processing tasks.
  • Good writing and organizational skills.

Skills needed to be successful: Attention to detail and customer service skills.

Experience Desired: Background in geneology required

Time Commitment: flexible time increments Wed through Saturday 9-5

Our History Campus
The KHS history campus includes the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, the Old State Capitol and the Kentucky Military History Museum at the Old State Arsenal. The headquarters of KHS, the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, was completed in April 1999. This 167,000-square-foot, $29-million facility in downtown Frankfort has welcomed more than a million visitors and earned many awards for excellence.
