Matter of Balance is an evidence based program conducted by trained facilitators that has been shown to have a positive impact on fall prevention with Seniors. 2 facilitators co-lead this 8 week workshop which meets once a week at various locations in the community such as churches, assisted living communities, or senior centers. The facilitator's role is to connect class participants while encouraging discussion inside of a solution-oriented environment. Facilitators also organize the classroom with provided supplies and refreshments.
Matter of Balance facilitators are trained to co-lead classes according to provided directions and training materials. Facilitators will attend a 2 day training to become certified in Matter of Balance and will need to teach a minimum of 1 eight week workshop per year. The next training is September 27 & 28, please contact Katie Heitzig at katie@normandalecenter.org regarding further training details.
