Position Summary
Assist with office operations, follow up with Hospice of the Chesapeake family members via mailings and/or phone calls, ensure support to those attending groups and workshops, and/or assist with the promotion of Chesapeake Life Center services.
Posible Tasks
* Electronic data entry and documentation
* File paper and/or electronic records
* Call bereaved family members
* Close charts
* Run errands
* Copy CLC materials
* Distribute print materials including flyers, posters, hospice brochures, etc. or prepare for mailing
* Assist with support groups and workshops
* Other duties as assigned
Relationships
Establish and maintain good rapport with Hospice of the Chesapeake staff and volunteers
Supervised by: Staff Member requesting assistance
Volunteers Supervised: None
Minimum Position Qualifications
Minimum education: Grief 101 and Boundaries
Required licensure or certification: None required
Minimum experience: None required
Skills required: Dependability, flexibility, ability to multi-task, ability to work well with others, and an understanding of grief and hospice philosophy.
Physical demands: Sitting for extended periods of time
Equipment needed: Any necessary equipment will be provided
Working conditions: Office environment
Roles, Responsibilities, Expectations
As a Medicare-certified hospice, we are mandated to include Volunteers as an important part of our organization. We are required to have at least 5% of our patient service hours provided by Volunteers.
Every year our Volunteers provide thousands of hours of service for our patients. The value of time is priceless in the eyes of our patients and their families.
Volunteer tasks can be patient related or non-patient related.
