Traditions Health is looking for volunteers like you to donate their time and talent to make a difference in the lives of our hospice patients in the Colbert area. Volunteers provide support and companionship to our patients by listening to their stories, holding their hand, helping with a favorite activity, or many others ways. These activities remind our patients how important they are and how pertinent they are to society as well as offer comfort and dignity. A volunteer can also allow for a care giver to have time to run to the grocery store, take a walk, or go to a doctor's appointment. No special skills required except for a willing heart and helping hands. Free training which covers general information about hospice and how it works, volunteer do's and don'ts, and safety information. Requirements for volunteers include background check, TB test, brief physical, and drug screen. We are happy to cover the cost of these requirements. If volunteers are working directly with patients, we ask that they be vaccinated for COVID or be tested for weekly. We are happy to work with your schedule and will keep you as close to home as possible.
