We have a variety of opportunities for Volunteers as tour guides, research assistants, and computer assistants. The Volunteer Guides (Docents) at the Latimer House lead tours of the house and share the history of the house, the Latimer family, and Wilmington. Their responsibilities include greeting visitors and leading tours through the house.
Training, tour scripts, and background information are provided by the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society; prior to leading tours, volunteers have many opportunities to shadow trained Docents and do "practice tours" for friends and/or family. This is a terrific opportunity to learn more about the history of our wonderful area and to share it with others!
