During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Volunteer tutors offer individualized support to adults wanting to improve their basic reading and writing skills, or who are wanting to get their GED. Tutoring pairs can also focus on basic computer skills (email, typing, etc). Tutors develop lesson plans focused on individual students' needs from beginner to intermediate level. We work with a diverse group of both native and non-native English speakers at our learning center in Lake City. People of color and bilingual/multilingual individuals are encouraged to apply.

Literacy Source partners with adults working to gain skills and education to create new opportunities for themselves, their families, and the community. We envision an inclusive and equitable society providing education and opportunities for all adults. We believe that all adults can improve their basic skills and that community volunteers, trained and supported by professional staff, can work with students to make this happen. We welcome the challenge of developing the habit of independent lifelong learning. The Literacy Source story unfolds each day at our center - and in homes, community centers, and workplaces around Seattle and the Puget Sound region - as adult learners work towards literacy, English language skills, citizenship, better jobs, and better lives.
Literacy Source is a safe and community-centered environment where adults can improve basic reading, writing, math, English language, computer, employment, and life skills.
We'll work with your schedule.
