You can bring comfort to patients and their families by sharing you musical gifts. Apex Hospice is looking for volunteers to spend time with hospice patients. Music is known to have a profound effect on a person's physical, mental and emotional well-being. Research shows that music can help ward off depression, manage stress and help with pain management. Music creates a space to express feelings, enhance memory, promote movement and ease muscle tension.
"As people face a terminal illness and are confined to a hospital bed or hospice room, music can provide a great source of solace." Science Daily
If you love to sing, play an instrument, or listen to music, then we want you to join our volunteer team! Many of our patients would love to hear music - in any form - and would welcome the opportunity to have you visit and bring the gift of your music. Your gift of music will make life more pleasant for individuals during their end of life transition.
