About

Good Shepherd Hospice, a program of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, is looking for compassionate, kind, and devoted volunteers to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Hospice refers to the specific type of care that a patient receives as they near the end of their life. This care is provided in a patient's home, skilled nursing facility or our in an acute inpatient setting. Many of our patients are alert, active, and interested in socializing with volunteers.

Our volunteer opportunities are virtually limitless and include:

* Visiting patients in the community to provide socialization and companionship * Administrative activities such as scanning, file organization, and data entry * Providing respite to patients’ caregivers * Providing bereavement support to grieving families * Helping with annual memorial events, fundraisers and children's camp

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like more information please call 631-828-7611 or email pamela.brenner@chsli.org
