Aegis Hospice is currently seeking compassionate volunteers that can provide patients and families support and comfort when they need it the most.
We have volunteer opportunities all over the Phoenix metro area!
At Aegis Hospice, we are committed first to care of our patients and the well being of their families. With that belief at the core of everything we do, we know that it can only be achieved through the strength of the team we build.
Compassionate volunteers are needed to assist patients and families in their homes. Duties may include visiting, providing respite for caregivers, reading to a patient, watching television, or even playing games.
To volunteer for Aegis Homecare and Hospice, you must be at least 18 years old. A background check is required, along with a current negative TB screening. A current CPR and First Aid certification is also needed.
Training will be included prior to volunteer placement. Our training prepares all volunteers for the challenges of working with patients and their caregivers and families. Topics include listening skills, grief and loss, the medical aspects of end-of-life, and the psychosocial and spiritual aspects of care.
Hospice volunteers are required to provide a calm presence during challenging situations, and we believe our training helps develop these skills.
To become a volunteer, please email your information and our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you as soon as possible.
