ORGANIZATION: TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network)

Purpose: Community ambassadors work with community agencies and faith communities to represent TIHAN’s mission and services. This often involves tabling a TIHAN information booth at community events such as World AIDS Day, AIDSWalk, and other events. This position requires travel to destinations in the Tucson metro area.

Specific Tasks: represent TIHAN at local events; network with community resources; act as a source of information for various supporters

Reports to: Operations Manager

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours/month (varies)

Qualifications: must be 18 or older; general background check;; ability to talk with persons regarding TIHAN; ability to maintain professional relationships with community members

Desired Attributes: Excellent communication skills; flexibility; professionalism

Training: volunteer orientation; speakers & media training; one-on-one introduction to program

TIHAN is a non-profit located in Tucson, Arizona that provides services to people living with HIV/AIDS to empower them to live well. Our mission is to use education and support to reduce stigma and sustain hope for people living with HIV. Our main values are education, service, and advocacy.
