Britepaths' Food4Thought Program partners with social workers and parent volunteers at select Fairfax County Public Schools to provide technical assistance and support for them to send home food for the weekend in the backpacks of children in their schools who receive food assistance at school during the week and may potentially go without food over the weekend. Businesses, community organizations and families can help our partner schools help their kids by donating the food and assembling packs that will be delivered to the schools for distribution to children who need them. Please note that groups who wish to participate in this project must provide the food that goes in the packs. Food items needed include new, unopened and unexpired nonperishable items, including milk and juice boxes, individual cereal and oatmeal packages, individual-sized reheatable meals (eg. Spaghettio-s, Mac & Cheese), fruit cups and granola bars or individual cracker packs. View a detailed description of the volunteer project at: https://britepaths.org/f4t-volunteer-project
