Dinosaur Ridge is a non-profit outdoor museum with over 300 dinosaur footprints and dozens of dinosaur bones still in place from the Mesozoic, the Age of the Dinosaurs. Dinosaur Ridge programs are run by volunteers like you! Whether you are looking for a long term opportunity or short term, Dinosaur Ridge has volunteer opportunities for everyone!
School Group Educator
Do you like kids ages 3-18? Each year 18,000 school children come to Dinosaur Ridge on school field trips. About a 1/3 of those children are from low-income schools who receive free tours of Dinosaur Ridge thanks to our Field Experience Fund. We are able to offer such opportunities due to volunteer educators leading tours of Dinosaur Ridge’s fossil sites and conducting education programs at our Visitor Center. If you are interested in children, education, teaching, interpreting, working on public speaking skills or just like to learn something new, this is the opportunity for you! We are also looking for volunteers who are bilingual in Spanish and English. No background in geology or paleontology is required and training is provided.
Once school field trip season is in full swing, usually April - November there 2-3 school tours/programs daily, but we also offer tours for camps and adult groups during the summer. You can choose to volunteer on a regular day each week, or you can volunteer as needed (we send out weekly emails of upcoming tours). If this seems like something you are interested in, please visit http://www.dinoridge.org/volunteer.html for more details and to complete our volunteer application.
We'll work with your schedule.
