We are a Community Action Network program run through LifeWorks, part of the Los Angeles LGBT Center. We are a volunteer based program seeking people ages 18-24 who are passionate about working with LGBTQ youth.
We attend weekly GSA or other like group meetings at various high schools around LA and conduct a semester leadership program for them to help their group structure meetings and become more self-sustaining. In this program we help teach the students to take leadership in their schools by helping them learn how to tell their stories of struggle, strength and leadership and come together to take action, as well as educate them on LGBTQ history and do various activities with them.
This helps build community and fosters an environment of compassion and kindness between people, and gives them the tools to make an impact in their school and in their society. We also conduct may other trainings for parents, colleges, social clubs, summer camps, etc.
