Position Title: Senior Knitting/Crocheting Volunteer Instructor
Reports to: Divisional Volunteer Center
Purpose/Goal of Position: To lead knitting and crocheting projects for seniors in Oceanside.
Qualifications/Skills/Certifications Needed:
1. Knitting/Crocheting experience.
2. Prior experience in group instruction or teaching preferred
3. Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and participants
Duties/Responsibilities:.
1. Prepare a syllabus and daily lesson plans for each class, based on student needs and abilites.
2. Responsible for overall set up and clean up of activities.
3. Supervise activities for seniors, with first priority in their safety, at all times following The Salvation Army's safety policies for working with minors.
