ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

Position title: Volunteer Arts & Crafts Instructor

Reports to: Divisional Volunteer Center

Purpose/Goal of Position: To create and execute fun and educational art projects at the Oceanside Corps Community Center.

Qualifications/Skills/Certifications Needed:

1. Prior experience in group instruction or teaching preferred.

2. Bilingual in English & Mandarin preferred.

3. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and participants.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Prepare a syllabus and daily lesson plans for each class, based on student needs.

2. Promote activities at The Salvation Army Oceanside Corps Community Center.

3. Responsible for overall set up and cleanup of activities.

4. Supervise activities for seniors, with first priority in their safety, at all times following The Salvation Army’s safety policies for working with elder-dependent adults.
