ORGANIZATION: Tomorrow's Black Men

If you have a passion for education and helping others then consider volunteering as a Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship Committee Member. Members of our Scholarship Committee donate their time and expertise to ensuring that we identify well deserving students who are likely to do well in college.

As a committee member you will have the opportunity to support the program in many ways such as:

  • Scholarship Program development

  • Candidate selection/award process

  • Scholarship Awareness events

  • Student Writing and Interviewing Workshops

The Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship was established in 2010 to reward qualifying High School students who have shown leadership academically, as well as in the community. As a committee member you will have the opportunity to help a deserving student reach their educational goals.

9 scholarships totaling up to 8,500 will be awarded to applicants from DC,VA,MD and WV

Mission Statement

The mission of Tomorrow's Black Men is to make a positive difference in the lives of troubled and at risk young males. By helping them to raise their standards of living, we wish to introduce and help reinforce the positive morals and values needed to equip these young men, thus enabling them to not only accept but to overcome the challenges that lie ahead of them. We will accomplish this through a professionally supported relationship with caring adults and responsible peers. Today's Black Men, are tomorrow's leaders, and we are committed to preparing them for that responsibility by providing guidance and structured programs that will enable them to become productive individuals thus promoting professional and personal growth.

Description

Tomorrow's Black Men works with troubled and at risk young males by offering educational assistance, technical training, and family strengthening programs. It is our goal to give the individual the needed tools to overcome the challenges that stem from lack of education, job skills and financial instability.
