Volunteers help develop and maintain Aurora's Xeriscape Demonstration Garden, an important resource for water conservation education. We can use help from those with horticulture skills - or just enthusiasm - in our herbal/medicinal area, vegetable area, and throughout the entire xeriscape demonstration garden!
We work outside among the bugs, birds, and butterflies enjoying the sunshine of Colorado in the spring, summer, and into autumn. Tasks include planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and deadheading. Volunteers also answer visitor questions.
Volunteers observe nature and learn about plants best suited for our environmental conditions. Additional opportunities include public outreach.
