Community Exhibit Ambassadors Team for 4-H & Nutrition Programs (Lkld)

ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Polk

  • 6 people are interested

Do you enjoy meeting people and going to community events in the Lakeland area? Some times our 4-H & Nutrition agents get invited to multiple events at different locations and need Community Exhibit Ambassadors that could represent them at an exhibit, fair or festival. Events occur periodically, so you are not committing to every Saturday. You will be given advance notice so you can plan accordingly.

An orientation would be provided and a means for recording questions to be directed to the Agents. You do not need to be a subject matter expert. Assignment responsibilities would include: Picking up/returning exhibit display & marketing materials from our 4-H office in Bartow (U.S. Hwy 17 South); set up/take down display at the event; greet exhibit visitors & possibly engage them in hands-on educational activities or games.

Physical abilities: Able to lift up to 30 lbs., walk across parking lots or festival grounds, you may choose to work indoor or outdoor events (or both). Able to stand for periods of time, most exhibits include chairs for when you need to sit down. Must be able to be courteous, utilitze appropriate grammar and speak articulately.

If you have a friend who would like to volunteer with you, we find that it is helpful to have two Ambassadors working per shift/event. Have fun, meet others, see friends and help promote great educational programs for youth/4-H and adults!
