Are you passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education and STEM careers? If you have a sense of humor, a sense of wonder and are a bit quirky, Edheads is a great fit for you! Edheads ties classroom science and math curricula to real world careers. We have an event, Super STEM Saturday, coming up on October 21. The event involves corporate partners sharing hands-on activities with children ages 6-14 (grades 1-8) and information about in-demand STEM careers with parents. The goal of the event is to increase the pipeline of qualified applicants for STEM jobs and to get students headed toward high-paying, fulfilling careers. We are looking for 1-2 people that are familiar with PSAs (how to create them, how to get them aired and seen or heard), with media partners for events, and with grass roots marketing efforts to get the word out as far as possible about this event. We would like an audience of 1,500 to 2,000 students for the event. The position starts as soon as possible and lasts through October 18 or so. Most work can be done online, through phone calls and emails. We need your ideas and advice, but volunteers and Edheads' team will be doing most of the work.
